The Preserve Recognized Among Best Nursing Homes by U.S. News & World Report

FORT MYERS, Fla., Nov. 20, 2025 — The Preserve is proud to announce that its skilled nursing care center has been named one of the 2026 Best Nursing Homes by U.S. News & World Report for a second consecutive year. The community earned a high performing rating in both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care, a distinction that places The Preserve in the top percentage of nursing facilities in Florida and nationwide. “This acknowledgment speaks to the passion and professionalism our team brings to resident care every day,” said William Boyd, executive director at The Preserve. “We remain committed to helping residents recover sooner, stay healthier, receive individualized attention, and enjoy a fuller quality of life.” U.S. News awards the designation of Best Nursing Homes only to those communities that satisfy their rigorous, data-driven standards. To determine the ratings, the U.S. News team analyzed data about staffing, patients’ health outcomes and results of government-conducted health and safety outcomes. The Short-Term Rehabilitation rating is based on U.S. News’ assessment of 17 quality measures focusing on nurse staffing, patient outcomes, facility deficiencies and processes of care, such as the appropriate use of some hypnotic medications. The Long-Term Care rating is based on U.S. News’ assessment of 17 quality measures focusing on nurse staffing, patient outcomes and turnover of ownership and staff.  For both scores, U.S. News used scientific literature reviews, discussions with industry experts and statistical modeling to select these measures. These ratings designate nursing homes as High Performing, As Expected or Evaluated in the care they provided to residents who spent 100 days or fewer at a skilled nursing facility for rehabilitation care needed as a result of a stroke or accident, joint replacement or other rehabilitation-focused recovery and in the care they provided to residents who spent more than 100 days at a nursing home. The Preserve is among the elite 19% of nursing facilities that earned a “High Performing” rating, the highest possible achievement.
